Re: Teapots
I do sometimes use a teapot but I have perfected a brew in a mug also. You have to squeeze the teabag using a teaspoon thus extracting more tea and getting a proper brew.

Re: Teapots
growing up or visiting friends in a sort of formal way or family dinners etc, you would go round, a pot would be brought out on a tray, cups and saucers, tea brewing in pot, selection of biscuits and sugar CUBES in a bowl...very English...as said below, its now been fucking coffee shopped out or we have no time anymore to just.....take.....it........slow......and.....make.....a....nice......brew

Re: Teapots
I never knew you were posh Hairy. Sugar CUBES? You'll be passing out the serviettes next.

Re: Teapots
definatley aint posh, but my nan was like Mrs Bucket (bouquet) and when it came to tea she thought she was lady of the manor...never had cubes at home..just at my nans.

Thats the point though aint it, it was something people took pride in, known throughout the world. you had your best china etc... good old days

Tea definitely tastes better drunk from thin fine china

Yorkshire Gold in a teapot when I've got the time, which is most days. Sometimes I'll have a Yellow Label in a mug, which just ain't the same.

Re: Teapots
13 years ago, after a 2 day blowout and a massive row with the mrs, I ended up doing a shit in the teapot before passing out.

Forgot all about it and only found out a week later when social services came round for a cuppa.

Miserable sods did not see the funny side to say the least but fuck me how I laughed.

Haven't seen my kids since but it was worth it.

Re: Teapots
they say that u should have tea in thin fine china or a glass rather than a mug as it tastes better because something to do with the air getting in ur mouth when u sip or something....

Teapot, loose leaves, preferably Assam tips.

A brew to build an empire on.
